Credo Launches 400G HiWire AECs for AI/ML

Credo announced a new line of HiWire Active Electrical Cables (AECs) aimed at China’s growing hyperscale data centers, specifically for the 400G Q112 network port market. These new cables are designed to enhance the performance of AI and machine learning backend network connections to Top of Rack (TOR) switches. The HiWire Shift AEC family builds on Credo’s existing 800G HiWire technology, offering improved energy efficiency and reliability with up to 100 million hours Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). Sampling of the new products is already underway, with full production slated for the first quarter of 2025.

The HiWire Shift AEC family includes three new products optimized for dual and single port NIC connections, offering solutions for 400G QSFP-Q112 to 200G QSFP-56 and QSFP-112 configurations. Credo’s leadership in AEC technology has gained traction in China’s hyperscale data centers, where demand for high-performance, low-power connectivity solutions is rising.

“HiWire AECs continue to gain traction with Hyperscalers for NIC to TOR connectivity, and we look forward to extending that reach even further in the China market with these new AEC offerings,” said Ameet Suri, Head of AEC Product and Business Development at Credo.
