Crusoe Acquires Atero to Boost GPUaaS

Crusoe has acquired Atero, a Tel Aviv–based startup specializing in GPU management and memory optimization for AI workloads. The deal strengthens Crusoe’s AI infrastructure platform by enhancing the performance and efficiency of its Crusoe Cloud service. The acquisition also establishes Crusoe’s first Middle East office, expanding the company’s global reach. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Atero, founded in 2024, developed proprietary technology to improve GPU utilization and reliability for demanding AI tasks such as LLM inference. The company’s engineering team will join Crusoe to integrate its software stack into Crusoe Cloud, enabling higher performance and lower energy consumption for customers. Crusoe described the move as a step toward delivering more scalable, efficient, and reliable managed AI services.

The acquisition comes as Crusoe scales its vertically integrated cloud platform, powered in part by stranded energy sources and designed to offer GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS). The Tel Aviv office will serve as a new hub for Crusoe’s global operations, drawing on regional technical talent and supporting new customer deployments across the Middle East.

  • Atero brings GPU memory optimization and infrastructure operating system expertise
  • Acquisition expands Crusoe Cloud’s managed AI services and efficiency
  • First Middle East office opens in Tel Aviv to support growth and talent recruitment
  • Atero’s founders, Alon Yariv and Omer Landau, along with its engineering team, join Crusoe
  • Crusoe reinforces its vertically integrated AI cloud model with advanced GPU utilization technology

“We are excited to welcome the Atero team to Crusoe. Atero’s low-level expertise in high-performance computing infrastructure will be instrumental in Crusoe delivering unmatched performance, scale, reliability and efficiency in our GPU clusters,” said Chase Lochmiller, co-founder and CEO of Crusoe.

🌐 Analysis: This deal underscores Crusoe’s push into GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS), an increasingly competitive segment where performance optimization and cost efficiency are critical differentiators. By integrating Atero’s GPU memory and utilization technology, Crusoe strengthens its ability to compete with hyperscalers and specialized GPUaaS providers such as Lambda, CoreWeave, and Voltage Park. The opening of a Tel Aviv office positions Crusoe to tap into Israel’s deep pool of AI and chip design talent while expanding its presence in a region where cloud AI adoption is accelerating.
