DC BLOX has announced plans to develop a new subsea Cable Landing Station (CLS) in Palm Coast, Florida, marking a major expansion of international connectivity infrastructure in the Southeastern United States. Slated to go live in Q1 2027, the Palm Coast CLS campus will be anchored by Google’s Sol transatlantic cable and is designed to support up to six high-capacity subsea cables. The project positions Palm Coast as a new gateway for global digital traffic, offering a diverse alternative to existing cable landings in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Gulf Coast.
This will be Florida’s first direct subsea connection to Europe since 1999 and the only active fiber route between the state and the continent when Sol becomes operational. The 20-acre campus will include full colocation capabilities and room for future expansion, creating a hyperscale-enabled digital hub that serves the needs of cloud, AI, and communications providers. In addition to the Sol cable—which connects Florida to Bermuda, the Azores, and Spain—DC BLOX plans to land five more cables at Flagler Beach and link them terrestrially to the new Palm Coast station.
DC BLOX’s Palm Coast build will complement its existing Myrtle Beach CLS and aligns with the broader trend of hyperscalers driving new subsea infrastructure. The move is expected to attract further investment, support job creation, and enhance digital resiliency for the region. Florida state and local leaders hailed the project as a transformational opportunity for the state’s digital economy.
