DE-CIX opens Internet Exchange in Denmark

DE-CIX inaugurated its newest Internet Exchanges in Esbjerg and Copenhagen (Denmark). The IXs are now operational in the data centers of Bulk Data Centers (DK01) and Digital Realty (CPH1, CPH2 and CPH3) with more enabled sites to be announced in due course.

 The new DE-CIX Internet Exchanges in Denmark are based on the company’s Apollon interconnection and cloud platform, which includes cloud routing service.

DE-CIX said its its InterconnectionFLEX service offers enterprises in Denmark a complete interconnection package for peering, cloud connectivity, and private network interconnects (PNIs). Customers can get direct access to over 50 clouds, 2000+ local and international networks and over 250 data centers in Germany, Southern Europe, Asia, and the USA – with one single contract and full flexibility, including a comprehensive interconnection consultation. 

In addition, DE-CIX in Denmark will act as a digital hub for regional connectivity, enabling local networks low-latency interconnection and the localization of global content, while increasing network stability, scalability, and security. The DE-CIX peering, and cloud connectivity platform also offers advanced service features and automation, including access to the DE-CIX self-service portal and the DE-CIX API.

  •  DE-CIX recently launched similar platforms in Norway and Finland. The company nowoffers its interconnection services in close to 50 metro-markets in Europe, Africa, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. 
  • DE-CIX in Frankfurt, Germany, is one of the largest Internet Exchanges in the world, with a data volume of almost 34 Exabytes per year (as of 2022) and close to 1100 connected networks.
