Dell Technologies rolled out a wave of infrastructure upgrades across its server, storage, object, and data protection platforms to support AI-ready data centers and evolving hybrid workloads. These releases address demands for performance, energy efficiency, and modular scalability, driven by AI, analytics, virtualization, and cybersecurity use cases. Key updates include new PowerEdge servers with Intel Xeon 6 processors, all-flash ObjectScale platforms for AI workloads, and expanded PowerProtect systems for cyber-resilient backup and restore.
The newly launched PowerEdge R470, R570, R670, and R770 servers support Intel Xeon 6 P-core processors, with 1U and 2U form factors for dense rack deployments. The R770 enables up to 80% space savings per 42U rack and up to 67% performance gains, while the R570 leads in energy efficiency per watt. Dell’s support for the DC-MHS server design standard, part of the Open Compute Project, enhances modular deployment. Updates to OpenManage and iDRAC 10 offer real-time telemetry and latency reductions of up to 33x with Gen 5 RAID controllers.
For storage, Dell PowerStore introduces software-defined advances, including Smart Support analytics, zero-trust authentication with DoD smart card integration, and faster backup via Storage Direct Protection. Dell also announced ObjectScale XF960, an all-flash object platform optimized for AI workloads with up to 2x the throughput and 8x density over previous systems. The HDD-based ObjectScale X560 boosts training and ingest workloads with 83% faster read speeds. PowerScale’s new 122TB SSD nodes support up to 6PB in 2U, and hybrid options enhance archival and AI model retention strategies. Data protection innovations include the DD6410 appliance and an all-flash Ready Node, achieving up to 91% faster restores and 65X deduplication.
