Deutsche Telekom and NVIDIA have announced a joint initiative to build the world’s first industrial AI cloud platform on European soil, designed specifically for manufacturers. Slated for deployment by 2026, the infrastructure—branded as a European “AI Gigafactory”—will be built and operated in Germany. The platform is designed to provide sovereign, secure AI compute capacity at scale, helping European industry accelerate digital transformation, simulation, and AI-driven automation.
The AI infrastructure will feature 10,000 GPUs, including NVIDIA’s DGX B200 systems and RTX Pro Servers, and will run accelerated software stacks such as CUDA-X, RTX, and Omniverse from leading industrial ISVs. Deutsche Telekom will be responsible for the data centers, network, operations, sales, and regulatory compliance. The cloud platform will comply with strict EU data protection and sovereignty standards, ensuring all industrial data is processed securely and within European jurisdictions.
The announcement underscores a shared goal of enabling “simulation-first” design, AI-based robotics, and digital twins across key European manufacturing sectors. It also aligns with broader EU ambitions for technological sovereigntyand the onshoring of critical AI infrastructure to reduce reliance on overseas hyperscalers. Deutsche Telekom’s infrastructure will serve as a digital backbone for Europe’s smart factories, providing secure access to advanced AI for everything from supply chain optimization to real-time process monitoring.

“Europe’s technological future needs a sprint, not a stroll,” said Timotheus Höttges, CEO of Deutsche Telekom. “We must seize the opportunities of artificial intelligence now, revolutionize our industry and secure a leading position in the global technology competition.”
“In the era of AI, every manufacturer needs two factories: one for making things, and one for creating the intelligence that powers them,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. “By building Europe’s first industrial AI infrastructure, we’re enabling the region’s leading industrial companies to advance simulation-first, AI-driven manufacturing.”
