Digital Realty and Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) have teamed with NVIDIA to launch the first Quantum-AI data center in New York City. The deployment, housed at Digital Realty’s JFK10 facility, integrates OQC’s superconducting quantum hardware with NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips, creating a platform designed for hybrid quantum-AI workloads. This marks the first installation of a quantum computer in a New York data center and expands OQC’s footprint beyond London and Tokyo.
The new facility is part of Digital Realty’s PlatformDIGITAL®, enabling enterprises and governments to access quantum computing and accelerated AI within a secure, interconnected global infrastructure. OQC’s GENESIS quantum system, featuring its dual-rail Dimon qubit technology, is positioned to deliver error-suppressed, scalable computing for applications ranging from financial modeling and derivatives pricing to advanced security and logistics optimization. Future iterations of GENESIS are expected to ship with NVIDIA accelerated computing integrated as standard, building on earlier collaborations with CUDA-Q.
The launch carries broader geopolitical significance, serving as a flagship project for the UK–US technology alliance. Officials emphasized its role in strengthening transatlantic collaboration and placing British quantum technology at the center of next-generation computing. OQC highlighted near-term opportunities in finance, defense, and AI, while Digital Realty pointed to the importance of embedding quantum-AI infrastructure in the world’s most critical data hubs.
• Location: Digital Realty JFK10 facility, New York City
• Partners: Digital Realty, OQC, NVIDIA
• Technology: OQC GENESIS superconducting quantum computer + NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchips
• Key applications: Finance (risk modeling, fraud detection), Security (simulation, optimization), Quantum for AI (accelerated model training, quantum ML)
• Significance: First quantum computer deployed in NYC data center; pillar of UK–US tech trade partnership
• Roadmap: OQC targeting scalable, commercially viable, fault-tolerant quantum systems with near-term enterprise impact
“By working with OQC, we’re using NVIDIA supercomputing to make Quantum-AI directly accessible in one of the world’s most important data hubs – empowering enterprises and governments to unlock new levels of performance and resilience,” said Andy Power, President & CEO of Digital Realty.
🌐 Analysis: This partnership underscores a new phase where quantum computing is no longer confined to labs but embedded in enterprise-grade data centers alongside AI infrastructure. Digital Realty gains a first-mover advantage in hosting Quantum-AI systems, while OQC extends its global reach beyond Europe and Japan. NVIDIA’s GH200 integration further cements its position at the heart of next-gen compute. Competitors such as IonQ, Quantinuum, and Rigetti are pursuing similar enterprise traction, but the colocation strategy with Digital Realty offers OQC a unique path to scale.
