DISH Network Builds Interactivity into DBS Service

EchoStar Communications is now offering 14 interactive TV channels to 5 million DISH Network households in the US. The interactive channels offer “on-demand” access to news, weather, entertainment, sports and other information by selecting options with the remote control. Echostar is also offering on-line billing and account management through the service. OpenTV provides the backend software.
