du has become the first telecom operator in the UAE to commercially launch 5G Voice over New Radio (VoNR), marking a major milestone in the advancement of mobile communications. The company has also received full certification from leading handset manufacturers for compatibility with its 5G Standalone Access (5G SA) network, ensuring seamless connectivity and superior voice services across the country.

With one of the UAE’s largest 5G mobile networks, du’s 5G SA service aims to support both consumers and enterprises by enhancing digital transformation and enabling next-generation technologies such as AI, augmented reality (AR), and immersive communications. The VoNR service will provide significant benefits, including higher download and upload speeds, near-real-time latency, and enhanced call quality, improving experiences in smart cities, healthcare, education, and entertainment sectors.

Key advantages of du’s 5G VoNR launch:

  • Continuous 5G Connectivity – Calls remain on 5G without fallback to 4G, ensuring seamless connectivity.
  • Faster Call Setup – Reduced latency for quicker call initiation.
  • High-Definition Voice Quality – Enhanced clarity for superior call experiences.
  • Improved Battery Life – Optimized power consumption for extended device usage.
  • Support for Next-Gen Applications – Enhanced performance for AI, AR, and enterprise applications.
