DuPont Spins Out Qnity to Lead in Semi and Electronics Materials

DuPont has officially named its upcoming electronics spin-off Qnity, marking a major step in the creation of a standalone materials company aimed squarely at the fast-evolving semiconductor and electronics industries. Set to become one of the largest pure-play electronics materials providers in the world, Qnity will serve as a dedicated partner to companies building next-generation computing, display, and connectivity systems.

Qnity will inherit a broad portfolio of DuPont’s core electronics technologies, including advanced dielectric materials, semiconductor-grade CMP slurries and pads, photoresists, metallization chemistries, and high-performance polymers. These materials are critical in enabling chip scaling, heterogeneous integration, advanced packaging, and OLED displays. The spin-off consolidates decades of R&D and manufacturing capabilities that DuPont has built to serve the semiconductor, PCB, display, and flex circuit industries.

The new brand identity—centered around a stylized “Q” resembling a power icon and a network radiating from a chip-like core—reflects the company’s focus on innovation and ecosystem partnership. Led by Jon Kemp, current president of DuPont Electronics and incoming CEO of Qnity, the company will launch with over 10,000 employees serving customers in more than 80 countries. A dedicated microsite for Qnity has been launched at www.qnityelectronics.com.

  • Qnity will be DuPont’s independent electronics materials company following a planned spin-off
  • Product portfolio includes CMP materials, photoresists, advanced dielectrics, and display materials
  • Company will serve semiconductor, display, and flexible electronics markets across 80+ countries
  • Jon Kemp to serve as CEO; Qnity will start with 10,000+ employees globally
  • Logo design highlights the power and connectivity themes central to the brand’s mission

“Next generation technology requires next generation solutions, and with our bold new identity we are primed to deliver the next leap forward,” said Jon Kemp, CEO-elect of Qnity.
