e& Carrier & Wholesale has partnered with DE-CIX, a global leader in carrier and data center-neutral Internet Exchanges, to expand and enhance the operations of SmartHub IX. This collaboration leverages DE-CIX’s expertise and global footprint across nearly 60 locations to strengthen the Middle East’s digital infrastructure and interconnection ecosystem. SmartHub IX, hosted within e&’s state-of-the-art, geo-redundant SmartHub data centers, provides cutting-edge connectivity solutions for businesses and service providers across the region.

The partnership focuses on expanding SmartHub IX’s reach through remote peering services, enabling direct connections to DE-CIX’s international network. This initiative will improve cost-efficiency, scalability, and performance for businesses, making SmartHub IX a strategic gateway to global markets. Additionally, the collaboration connects the UAE to valuable markets such as India, creating a stronger digital bridge between the Gulf and international ecosystems. The submarine cable landing station in Fujairah, the largest in the region, and new locations in Dubai will further accelerate SmartHub IX’s growth trajectory, positioning the UAE as a central interconnection hub for the Middle East.

“With low-latency connectivity, SmartHub IX will ensure a more agile and efficient digital ecosystem,” said Nabil Baccouche, Group Chief Carrier & Wholesale Officer, e&. “By partnering with DE-CIX, we’re delivering world-class infrastructure and driving innovation to benefit our customers and the region’s digital economy.”

• Strategic Collaboration: e& and DE-CIX unite to expand the Middle East’s interconnection ecosystem.

• Remote Peering Services: SmartHub IX introduces scalable and cost-effective solutions for businesses and service providers.

• Enhanced Connectivity: Direct links between the UAE, India, and global DE-CIX Internet Exchanges strengthen regional and international ties.

• Regional Hub: SmartHub IX hosts the largest submarine cable landing station in Fujairah and expands operations to Dubai.

• Digital Economy Focus: Supports growth in the UAE and wider Gulf region through superior infrastructure and reduced latency.
