The module, based on Coherent’s Steelerton DSP technology, operates at just 5W while delivering high-performance 100G data rates in a compact form factor. Designed to upgrade existing 10G DWDM networks, the transceiver features a silicon photonics optical front-end and a tunable laser using Coherent’s indium phosphide platform. It supports both SFF-8636 and CMIS management interfaces, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of network infrastructures.
The 100G ZR QSFP28-DCO is optimized for edge networks and delivers a 300 km dispersion-limited reach, making it ideal for high-bandwidth applications. Coherent’s integration of Flextune auto-tuning technology provides zero-touch provisioning, further reducing deployment complexity.
