Fast Photonics is introducing its latest 1.6T Optical transceiver based on Silicon Photonics (SiPh) at the upcoming ECOC 2024 event, scheduled for September 22-26, 2024, in Frankfurt, Germany. The transceiver, featuring advanced 8 x 200G/lane SiPh integrated circuits, marks a significant leap in optical communication technology, enabling high-speed data transmission of 1.6 terabits per second (Tbps). The demonstration will show the 1.6T DR8 OSFP module functioning at distances of up to 2 kilometers, emphasizing its potential for short- to medium-range applications.
The new 1.6T transceiver product line is designed for best-in-class power efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Fast Photonics aims to mitigate supply chain risks by offering these products through dual manufacturing sites in North America and Asia. This product line supports a variety of configurations, including DSP, LPO, and LRO products in both multi-mode and single-mode options, initially available in the OSFP format.
“This launch marks a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering top quality products with availability from both North American and Asian manufacturing sites,” said Anthony Musto, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Fast Photonics.
