Ecuador’s Corporacion Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CNT) has selected Alcatel-Lucent for a new 3G mobile broadband network in Ecuador.
The CNT 3G network will deliver converged services that can be accessed from both fixed and mobile devices, at home or on the go. The network will also be ‘LTE and lightRadio-ready’, another first in Ecuador.
Under the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will design and deploy a complete end-to-end 3G W-CDMA network in the Pacific coastal and Southern area of Ecuador. Alcatel-Lucent will also provide maintenance and network optimization services. Financial terms were not disclosed.
