Edgecore Launches 10G Multi-G Switches for Wi-Fi 7 and Edge IoT

Edgecore Networks has launched the ECS5500-12T and ECS5500-12P, two compact, high-performance 10G Layer 2+/Lite L3 access switches designed to power the next wave of Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 deployments, IoT growth, and edge network expansion. With support for multi-gigabit speeds across all downlink ports, up to 480W of PoE++ power, and robust environmental protections, the new switches deliver enterprise-grade performance in a form factor suited for both edge and indoor environments.

The ECS5500-12P provides 60W per PoE++ port and a total power budget of 480W, enabling full-power support for all 8 powered ports. Both models offer 8 x RJ-45 ports (1G/2.5G/5G/10G) and 4 x 10G uplink ports (2 x SFP+ and 2 x 10G BASE-T), making them well-suited for high-throughput devices like Wi-Fi 7 APs, AI surveillance cameras, NAS systems, and cloud-based applications. Built for harsh conditions, they operate between -20°C to 55°C, feature 6KV surge protection, and run quietly under 39dB—ideal for smart buildings, outdoor cabinets, and office deployments.

Security and manageability are key strengths, with support for features like 802.1X authentication, ACLs, ERPS protection, Dying Gasp alerts, and both cloud-based (Edgecore ecCLOUD, TIP OLS) and local management. Designed for education, SMBs, surveillance, and smart buildings, the ECS5500-12T/12P delivers a future-proof platform at a highly competitive price point.

  • Edgecore launches ECS5500-12T and ECS5500-12P 10G multi-Gig switches for edge networking.
  • Full 480W PoE++ (60W per port) supports Wi-Fi 7, AI cameras, IoT, and more.
  • 8 x 1G/2.5G/5G/10G downlinks + 4 x 10G uplinks for flexible connectivity.
  • Rugged design supports -20°C to 55°C operation, with 6KV surge protection.
  • Secure and manageable with cloud/local control, IPv6, ACLs, 802.1X, and ERPS.

“With the ECS5500-12T/12P, we are offering a robust and flexible switch platform that not only delivers 10G performance and full-power PoE++, but also thrives in demanding environments — all at a highly competitive price point,” said TengTai Hsu, Vice President of Edgecore Networks.
