Ekinops Launches100G for Edge Networks

Ekinops introduced the PM_100HDF01, a pluggable module for its Ekinops360 WDM optical transport system. Designed to meet the growing bandwidth demands at the network edge, the PM_100HDF01 offers 100G connectivity optimized for cost efficiency and long-haul performance over thousands of kilometers. This solution addresses increasing requirements driven by edge applications like 5G, AI, edge computing, and broadband access, providing a managed service demarcation point for seamless SLA monitoring and service delivery.

Built on Ekinops’ 200G FlexRate optical technology, the PM_100HDF01 is engineered to upgrade existing 10G networks to 100G while maintaining compatibility with current operational models. It supports deployment across greenfield, brownfield, and third-party networks as an alien wavelength. The solution also integrates with Ekinops’ 10G aggregation modules, enabling service providers to scale bandwidth while maintaining flexibility to support lower-speed services.

• New PM_100HDF01 module expands Ekinops360 WDM portfolio for 100G edge networks.

• Optimized for cost efficiency and high performance across edge, metro, and long-haul applications.

• Compatible with Ekinops’ 10G aggregation modules, allowing phased service migrations.

• Supports managed service demarcation for simplified SLA monitoring and troubleshooting.

• Available now, with significant interest reported from existing and new customers.

“The PM_100HDF01 is designed to address those applications where 10G is not enough capacity but 200G is too much,” said Sylvain Quartier, Chief Marketing Officer at Ekinops. “It’s a true multi-reach solution delivering all the performance you would expect from a transponder at a cost point that makes it attractive for deployment at the edge where demand for 100G is really growing.”
