Ekinops Unveils “Bridge” Plan to Expand in DCI and SASE

Ekinops has unveiled its “Bridge” strategic plan, aimed at strengthening its position in fast-growing market segments, particularly Optical Transport and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE). The company plans to expand its Metro Optical Transport and WDM expertise into the Data Center Interconnect (DCI) market, which is experiencing 13%-20% CAGR due to AI-driven data center expansions and sovereignty concerns. On the Access side, Ekinops seeks to integrate cybersecurity into its network solutions, leveraging its OneOS6 SD-WAN platform and developing a Secure Service Edge (SSE) SaaS offering.

To execute Bridge, Ekinops appointed Harald Bock as Chief Product Officer, effective February 1, 2025. Bock, formerly with Infinera, Coriant, Nokia Siemens Networks, and Ericsson, will lead the development of DCI and cybersecurity solutions, set for release between late 2025 and early 2026. Ekinops expects these new products to drive revenue growth in 2026 and beyond, particularly in the United States, where the company anticipates a market recovery. The R&D team has been realigned to focus on DCI and SASE, with investments launched without significantly increasing overall R&D expenditure.

Ekinops aims for a return to double-digit growth under the Bridge plan, targeting 30% of annual revenue from software and services by 2028, with over 50% as Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR). The company seeks an EBITDA margin close to 20%, combining organic growth and acquisitions. Additionally, Bridge incorporates a corporate social responsibility (CSR) component, reinforcing Ekinops’ long-term commitment to social and environmental impacts.

• Focus Areas: Expansion in Data Center Interconnect (DCI) and SASE cybersecurity solutions

• DCI Market Growth: Expected CAGR of 13%-20% due to AI and data center expansion

• SASE Market Growth: Projected CAGR of 13%-28%, with focus on Secure Service Edge (SSE)

• New Leadership: Harald Bock appointed as Chief Product Officer (formerly with Infinera, Coriant, Nokia Siemens Networks, and Ericsson)

• Revenue Target: 30% from software & services by 2028, with 50%+ as recurring revenue (ARR)

• Financial Goals: Double-digit growth and EBITDA margin near 20%

• Sustainability: CSR commitment for social and environmental responsibility

“Bridge positions Ekinops for long-term growth by targeting the fastest-growing market segments in optical transport and cybersecurity. With our new DCI and cybersecurity solutions, we are enabling telecom operators to expand their offerings in high-demand sectors,” said Didier Brédy, CEO of Ekinops.
