Equant Launches Global IP Video Conferencing Service

Equant introduced a new IP video conferencing service aimed at multinational businesses. The service is provisioned over Equant’s global MPLS backbone and promises business-class, TV-quality video at rates up to 2 Mbps. Equant is offering fixed monthly charges, rather than usage-based billing, which the company estimates would allow customers to begin realizing savings over their ISDN solutions with as little as 8 hours per month of conferencing. The Equant IP Video Solution uses equipment supplied by Cisco Systems, Genesys Conferencing and Polycom.
