Flex unveiled a new high-efficiency power shelf for NVIDIA’s GB300 NVL72 platform at OCP APAC in Taipei. The system is designed to meet the rising power and cooling demands of large-scale AI infrastructure, delivering up to 33 kW per shelf with peak efficiency of 97.5% at half load. It supports NVIDIA’s latest rack-scale system with 72 Blackwell Ultra GPUs while reducing power conversion losses by over 60% compared to conventional systems.

The announcement marks an important step toward 800 VDC data center power infrastructure, which will be needed to support 1 MW racks for AI workloads. Flex is working with NVIDIA to align production of 800 VDC components with the upcoming Kyber rack-scale systems, ensuring seamless adoption of higher-voltage architectures.

Flex is positioning its advanced manufacturing, power, and cooling portfolio as a comprehensive solution for hyperscale and colocation operators. Its grid-to-chip power systems and lifecycle services aim to accelerate the deployment of AI factories worldwide.

• New Flex power shelf supports NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 with 72 Blackwell Ultra GPUs

• Delivers 33 kW per shelf, with six PSUs in a 3+3 redundant design

• Achieves 97.5% efficiency at half load, cutting conversion losses by 60%

• Prepares industry for transition to 800 VDC infrastructure and 1 MW racks

• Full-scale production to align with NVIDIA Kyber rack-scale systems

“As AI workloads push rack power systems to new levels, Flex is at the forefront of enabling data center operators to overcome increasing power, heat, and scale challenges,” said Chris Butler, president, Critical and Embedded Power at Flex.

🌐 Why it Matters: As AI factories scale toward megawatt racks, the transition to 800 VDC power infrastructure is becoming critical. Flex’s collaboration with NVIDIA highlights how power system innovation must keep pace with GPU density and rack-scale AI system evolution.
