Freescale Offers Quad-core QorIQ Processors

Freescale Semiconductor introduced its 45-nm QorIQ P4040 processor, a four-core version of its flagship P4080 processor. The new device, which is pin and code compatible with the eight-core P4080 device, combines control, datapath and application layer processing. Target applications include wireless infrastructure, enterprise routing and switching and industrial platforms.
