Fujitsu, 1Finity, and Arrcus Target AI-Era Networks

Fujitsu, its subsidiary 1Finity, and Arrcus announced a strategic partnership to deliver advanced networking solutions designed to support the exponential growth of AI-driven data traffic. The collaboration will target data centers, telecom operators, and enterprises in Japan and globally, with solutions that connect cloud, edge, and 5G/6G infrastructure seamlessly.

Arrcus brings its disaggregated network operating system (NOS) that runs across data centers, edge, and multi-cloud environments. The software can be deployed on commodity white box hardware equipped with a range of silicon options, enabling flexible architectures that reduce total cost of ownership by more than 40% in some customer deployments. Under the agreement, 1Finity will distribute Arrcus solutions while Fujitsu leverages its global customer base and expertise in AI and computing to deliver end-to-end network and infrastructure services.

The partnership will also expand into managed service offerings and joint go-to-market strategies, providing customers with comprehensive lifecycle solutions spanning network design, deployment, operation, and maintenance. Fujitsu sees the initiative as key to its strategy of combining AI, computing, and networking to address the infrastructure demands of the AI era.

“As the amount of AI-related data transfer increases in both volume and complexity, the role of networks has become more important than ever before,” said Masaaki Moribayashi, CEO of 1Finity.

🌐 Analysis: Earlier this year, Fujitsu spun out its network communications business into a standalone entity, rebranding it as 1Finity. The move was intended to give the unit more agility in forming global partnerships and focusing on open, software-driven network innovation. This deal with Arrcus demonstrates the value of that independence, allowing 1Finity to align with a Silicon Valley software disruptor to broaden its portfolio.

Arrcus has built a strong reputation in disaggregated, hyperscale networking with its ArcOS architecture, which spans routing, switching, and multi-cloud interconnect. By decoupling the NOS from proprietary hardware and enabling deployments on white box systems, Arrcus provides operators flexibility to choose best-of-breed silicon and optics. This software-first model positions Arrcus against incumbent vendors like Cisco, Juniper, and Arista, offering a cost-effective alternative as AI workloads reshape network demands.
