Global broadband subscriptions have surpassed 624 million, according to the latest figures released by the Broadband Forum and prepared by broadband industry analysts Point Topic.
Point Topic reports strong 12-month growth rates for FTTx (27%) and FTTH (23.4%) and for the first time the market share for DSL fell below 60%.
Some other highlights:
- IPTV services have brought more than 69 million new set-top boxes into Connected Homes.
- IPTV added 15.9 million subscribers over the past year, including 3.57 million over the last quarter.
- China, France and the U.S. continue to lead in terms of IPTV adoption. Russia is also seeing faster IPTV adoption.
