Hibernia Atlantic began offering a full 10.31 Gbps Ethernet capacity, allowing for 10 full channels of fiber capacity, across its trans-Atlantic cable system. Traditionally, carriers offer SONET converted to Ethernet, which only allows for 8 ports or channels. Therefore, Hibernia Atlantic’s offering now provides 25% more bandwidth, than other trans-Atlantic transport services currently available, offering 10 for 10 GigE ports as opposed to 8.
Hibernia Atlantic also offers 10 Gig Ethernet WAN-PHY, allowing for 9 channels out of 10.
