Huawei Launches Dual-mode WiMAX/LTE

July 17, 2011
in All
A A

Huawei launched a series of convergent WiMAX/LTE solutions, including a SingleRAN WiMAX/LTE base station, the world’s first WiMAX/HSPA dual-mode handset equipped with Android 2.2, the first commercial LTE TDD/FDD dual-mode USB dongle, and the first LTE TDD/FDD/UMTS/GSM multi-mode USB dongle.

Huawei’s SingleRAN WiMAX/LTE base station offers the ability for parallel transmitting in dual-mode. In this solution, remote radio units (RRU) are able to support dual modes of WiMAX and LTE TDD at the same time. Software upgrades enable greater flexibility for the operator.

Huawei’s B8200 WiMAX/HSPA dual-mode Android handset is able to support multiple bands, such as UMTS 900/2100MHz, GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800MHz, as well as WiMAX 2.5GHz access.

The new E398 LTE TDD/FDD USB dongle promises peak data rates of up to 100 Mbps.

The E392 LTE TDD/FDD/UMTS/GSM multi-mode USB dongle supports global roaming and can switch between different networks. It will be commercially launched during the second half of 2011.
