Keysight Technologies has joined two new projects under the 6G Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS-JU), a European Union co-funded initiative. These projects focus on AI-driven network management, sustainability, and energy efficiency in next-generation wireless communications. Keysight’s involvement supports the development of advanced communication components, systems, and networks by collaborating with service providers, vendors, research institutes, and universities. The projects will explore ways to minimize the environmental impact of network operations while enhancing scalability and decision-making processes using AI.

The two new initiatives, UNITY-6G and 6G-VERSUS, will run for three years and build on Keysight’s existing participation in four ongoing SNS-JU projects: IMAGINE B5G, CENTRIC, 6G-SANDBOX, and 6G-SHINE. UNITY-6G will develop an AI-native architecture that seamlessly integrates heterogeneous network domains, with a strong focus on sustainability and energy efficiency. 6G-VERSUS will explore the use of 6G platforms in six environmentally conscious industries, optimizing data and decision-making for sustainable operations. Keysight’s teams in Aalborg, Denmark, and Malaga, Spain will play a key role, providing design, emulation, and testing expertise to support prototypes and testbeds for future 6G deployments.

• Two new 6G SNS-JU projects: UNITY-6G and 6G-VERSUS focus on AI-native architecture and sustainable 6G applications.

• Expanding European 6G research: Keysight builds on its role in IMAGINE B5G, CENTRIC, 6G-SANDBOX, and 6G-SHINE.

• AI-driven and energy-efficient networks: Solutions aim to reduce carbon footprints while optimizing 6G scalability and management.

• Keysight Laboratories’ contributions: Teams in Denmark and Spain will provide expertise in design, emulation, and testing.

• Collaboration with academia and industry: Strengthens EU leadership in 5G and 6G innovation through public-private partnerships.

Keysight Vice President of 6G and Next-Generation Technology Giampaolo Tardioli stated, “We are excited to announce our participation in these two new groundbreaking projects, which aim to develop a highly sustainable and scalable AI-native architecture for 6G networks. Our advanced solution expertise will empower stakeholders to ignite significant and sustainable innovation.”
