KT reported 5.9 million Megapass (broadband) subscribers as of 30-June-2004, up by 507,000 over the preceding quarter. The number of Nespot (wireless broadband) subscribers was 375,000, up by 20,000 for the quarter. KT is now selling laptops along with its Nespot service.
Separately, KT reached an agreement with its labor unions on a new contract. The main points of the deal inlcude a 2% wage increase for 2004 and the implementation of a 5 day working week (weekly working hours reduced from 44 to 40). http://www.kt.co.kr
