Lumen Technologies announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enhance data center connectivity and support the growing demands of AI-driven services across the United States. Through this agreement, Lumen will integrate AWS technologies, including AI, machine learning, and security, to modernize its network operations. Additionally, Lumen will leverage its next-generation fiber network to provide high-capacity connectivity to AWS data centers, facilitating scalable AI applications for enterprise customers across AWS Regions and Local Zones.

Lumen’s Private Connectivity Fabric solution will establish dedicated fiber links between AWS locations, allowing AWS to deploy custom network solutions that prioritize security, availability, and performance. This infrastructure will enable high-bandwidth connections, supporting the development of generative AI applications and the training of AI models at scale. By transitioning its IT and product platforms to AWS, Lumen plans to utilize generative AI technology to optimize network resource planning and enhance customer service.

• Dedicated Fiber Infrastructure: Lumen will provide private fiber connections between AWS Regions and Local Zones.

• Generative AI Integration: AWS tools, including Amazon Bedrock, will streamline Lumen’s operations for autonomous, efficient networking.

• Enhanced Network Capacity: High-bandwidth connections will support AI applications and model training across AWS’s footprint.

• AI-Driven Network Management: Lumen aims to deploy a generative AI-powered, autonomous network platform for dynamic resource allocation.

“AI is reshaping industries, and the network infrastructure supporting it needs to be just as dynamic and responsive,” said Kate Johnson, President and CEO of Lumen Technologies.
