MEF Expands Enterprise Leadership Council, Launches New Membership Model

MEF has expanded its Enterprise Leadership Council (ELC) from four founding members to 14, enhancing its ability to address challenges in cloud, network, and security infrastructure. This council now includes leaders from sectors like finance, healthcare, retail, and technology, aiming to accelerate service automation, cybersecurity, and AI-Ops advancements. Among the key initiatives led by ELC members is MEF’s Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) Circuit Impairment & Maintenance (CIM) Service API, which aims to automate notifications for network circuit impairments and streamline maintenance processes. The ELC expansion reflects MEF’s commitment to fostering collaboration across industries on its independent platform, where enterprises and service providers converge to shape digital transformation initiatives.

In tandem with the ELC expansion, MEF has introduced a new subscription-based membership framework. This model provides members—including service providers, enterprises, and hyperscalers—access to MEF’s LSO resources, SDKs, and certification services. The membership framework, tailored to various roles across the Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) ecosystem, is designed to boost participation from diverse organizations, facilitating collaboration and market growth. With these initiatives, MEF continues to lead in developing the standards and solutions that address critical infrastructure needs.

• Expanded ELC now includes 14 executives from sectors like finance, healthcare, and retail

• ELC-led initiatives target service automation, cybersecurity, compliance, and AI-Ops

• Key initiative: Lifecycle Service Orchestration (LSO) CIM Service API for network circuit impairment and maintenance notifications

• New membership framework offers resources for developers, engineers, and executives in NaaS

• Membership includes SDKs, test and certification services, and networking opportunities for diverse industry players

“The expansion of the Enterprise Leadership Council marks a pivotal moment in MEF’s evolution,” said Sunil Khandekar, Chief Enterprise Development Officer, MEF. “By amplifying the enterprise voice, we’re not only responding to current industry needs, but anticipating future ones. The ELC’s diverse expertise is already shaping MEF’s NaaS initiatives, which will drive real solutions for today’s challenges and lay the foundation for tomorrow’s innovations. This level of collaboration sets a new standard for how industry associations can lead meaningful progress.”

“The potential for the NaaS market is immense and will require participation from organizations of all types and sizes—from service providers and data centers, to enterprises, who, for the first time, have access to MEF’s full suite of services, tools, and APIs,” said Kevin Vachon, Chief Operating Officer, MEF. “These new membership subscriptions represent a major shift in how MEF engages with the broader network services ecosystem, expanding our offerings so that all industry players have the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed in this market.”
