Mellanox Technologies announced the immediate availability of its IS5000 40 Gbps InfiniBand switch system featuring scalability from 36 to 648 ports in a single enclosure. Leveraging Mellanox’s 4th generation of InfiniBand silicon, the Mellanox IS5000 systems provide 2.9 to 51.8 Tb/s of non-blocking bandwidth across 648 ports and can be used to build networks consisting of tens of thousands of servers and storage nodes. FabricIT fabric management reduces management overhead by providing the essential capabilities for managing systems at scale with simplicity and flexibility.

Mellanox ConnectX adapters provide hardware-accelerated server virtualization and support TCP/IP and Fibre Channel traffic across the InfiniBand network. Mellanox BridgeX gateways enable seamless connectivity to clients on the LAN and to SAN storage. With ConnectX and BridgeX, the IS5000 switch system family provides I/O consolidation for data center and high-performance computing environments.
