NEC will license and resell the Riverbed Technology’s wide-area data services (WDS), the Riverbed Optimization System (RiOS), under an OEM agreement. NEC will combine RiOS with its server product line and sell the offering under its new “WanBooster” product family name.
WanBooster based on RiOS is a network appliance deployed in remote offices and in corporate data centers. The company said its RiOS accelerates enterprise applications typically by five to 50 times and in some cases up to 100 times between enterprise datacenters and remote offices.
