Nokia and NTT DATA are expanding their Private 5G partnership with the launch of a new network in Brownsville, Texas. The collaboration delivers a carrier-grade Private 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) to support the city’s operations, enhancing public safety and driving smart city initiatives. The deployment leverages Nokia’s 5G radio access portfolio and NTT DATA’s Private 5G Network-as-a-Service platform, designed to provide low-latency, high-bandwidth connectivity for mission-critical environments.

Brownsville’s new Private 5G network will enable seamless public safety operations, scalability for future growth, and the flexibility needed to support emerging technologies. Nokia and NTT DATA aim to replicate this success in key sectors such as airports and cities worldwide. The partnership builds on their recent implementations at Cologne Bonn Airport and Fraport AG in Germany, positioning Brownsville as a leader in North American smart city innovation.
