Nokia launched three network APIs on Google Cloud Marketplace to streamline developer access to mobile network functions.

The APIs include Quality of Service on Demand, Number Verification, and Device Location Verification, which developers can now discover and integrate directly from Google Cloud’s catalog. This move allows application creators to connect with multiple mobile networks without dealing with complex underlying technologies, leveraging Nokia’s Network as Code platform and developer portal for standardized access.

Nokia follows GSMA Open Gateway and CAMARA standards in designing these APIs, ensuring global compatibility through its expanding partnerships with communications service providers. The company plans to add more APIs to the marketplace soon, aiming to bridge telecom assets with cloud ecosystems for broader innovation.

  • Quality of Service on Demand API automates requests for guaranteed connectivity over a set period, such as during large events with heavy network use.
  • Number Verification API checks if a phone number matches the user, helping sectors like finance and retail reduce fraud.
  • Device Location Verification API confirms transaction requests by matching device and request locations to the owner.

“The availability of Nokia APIs on Google Cloud Marketplace is about giving developers easy access and simplified use of trusted network intelligence. This is just the latest step in Nokia’s efforts to connect programmable network assets to leading developer ecosystems,” said Shkumbin Hamiti, Vice President and Head of Network Monetization Platform, Cloud and Network Services, Nokia.
