Nokia Siemens Networks and Intel Demo Digital Home Networking

September 6, 2007

A A

Nokia Siemens Networks and Intel are cooperating on Digital Home Networking for IPTV. Both companies support the use of UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) and DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) standards for Home Networking.

Nokia Siemens Networks’ end-to-end IPTV solution uses its field-proven, leading middleware as well as best-of-breed components for encryption/content protection, content server, TV headend and set-top box.

PCs based on Intel Viiv Processor Technology are built with Intel’s high performance dual-core and quad-core processors, chipsets, networking silicon and special software. These PCs are complemented by online entertainment services and applications that have been verified to work with the Intel Viiv Technology — enabling consumers to access and share content.

The new Digital Home Networking features of Nokia Siemens Networks’ IPTV solution enable users to share their favorite content from their private PCs with all the TV sets in the household via the set-top box.
