Nokia has expanded its Wi-Fi 7 portfolio with the launch of the Beacon 19, a tri-band Wi-Fi 7 mesh gateway capable of delivering up to 19 Gbps of Wi-Fi capacity. This new device is designed to meet the growing demands of smart homes and multi-gigabit broadband services, enabling service providers to deliver faster, more reliable connections for activities like streaming, online gaming, and home security. By leveraging Wi-Fi 7’s advanced features, the Beacon 19 significantly reduces network congestion, delivering up to three times faster speeds than previous Wi-Fi 6 models.

With the increasing deployment of XGS-PON and 25G PON technologies, Wi-Fi 7 is becoming crucial for supporting multi-gigabit speeds in homes. Nokia says its new Beacon 19’s tri-band architecture allows simultaneous data transmission across multiple channels, reducing slowdowns and buffering. It also features Multi-Link Operations (MLO), which boosts connection stability by enabling devices to send and receive data over different frequency bands. Powered by Nokia’s Corteca software, the Beacon 19 provides seamless end-to-end Wi-Fi management from device to cloud, allowing service providers to easily optimize connections and deploy new services.

Nokia Corteca integrates with open standards like TR-369 and EasyMesh, offering a marketplace for third-party applications that can be deployed across fiber gateways, FWA gateways, and mesh Wi-Fi systems. This flexibility allows service providers to monetize new services and improve the customer experience with enhanced Wi-Fi management tools. The Beacon 19 will be showcased at Network X in Paris at the Nokia booth.
