UfiSpace and NTT DATA Japan have announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate the development and adoption of disaggregated open networking solutions. Unveiled at MWC 2025, the partnership focuses on building scalable, software-defined, and energy-efficient network infrastructures, enabling telecommunications providers and enterprises to transition from traditional, vertically integrated networks to open, flexible architectures. This collaboration aligns with NTT’s Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN) vision, supporting AI-driven and 6G-enabled networking technologies.

By combining UfiSpace’s expertise in white-box hardware with NTT DATA’s strengths in network integration, automation, and software-defined networking (SDN), the two companies will co-develop next-generation networking solutions. These solutions will help service providers modernize their infrastructures, enhance network scalability, and improve sustainability. Following the announcement at MWC 2025, the focus now shifts to global deployment and commercialization, ensuring that service providers and enterprises benefit from increased operational efficiency and reduced costs.

UfiSpace and NTT DATA aim to drive the industry-wide adoption of open networking, fostering an ecosystem where network operators can move away from proprietary, locked-in solutions toward more agile, cost-effective, and interoperable network architectures. Their joint efforts are expected to streamline network operations, enable faster innovation cycles, and support the evolving demands of 5G, AI, and future 6G networks.
