NTT DATA announced the international launch of its Smart AI Agent™, an advanced AI tool designed to drive Generative AI adoption across industries. The tool, which autonomously extracts, organizes, and executes tasks based on user instructions, aims to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. NTT DATA projects $2 billion in revenue from Smart AI Agent™-related business by 2027, as part of its broader strategy to address global talent shortages and empower businesses with smarter automation.

NTT DATA says its Smart AI Agent is already delivering value in sectors such as automotive, banking, and manufacturing by optimizing DevOps analysis, improving regulatory reporting, and streamlining marketing processes. Key features include task planning for automating complex workflows, multi-agent collaboration for enhanced efficiency, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) for contextual data searches, and Agent Ops for business document validation. A User-in-the-Loop (UITL) feature, launching in March 2025, will enable continuous improvement of workflows based on user feedback. NTT DATA’s solution integrates consulting, implementation, and ongoing support, ensuring seamless adoption across both public and private cloud environments.

Yutaka Sasaki, President and CEO of NTT DATA, emphasized the significance of the launch: “The Smart AI Agent™ is a direct response to the growing demand for tools that unlock the full potential of Generative AI. We’re committed to pioneering innovations that drive enterprise success while addressing operational challenges and the global talent gap.” Initially launching in the US, China, and several European markets, the tool will expand globally to support businesses in realizing AI’s transformative potential.

• NTT DATA targets $2 billion in revenue from Smart AI Agent™ by 2027.

• Features include task automation, multi-agent collaboration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and upcoming UITL capabilities.

• Supports both public and private cloud environments, addressing security-conscious enterprises.

• Initial rollout to the US, China, and Europe, with broader global availability planned.

• Enhances workflows in automotive, banking, and manufacturing sectors.

“The Smart AI Agent™ is designed to ease operational burdens, drive adoption, and help businesses realize the true value of AI technology,” said Yutaka Sasaki, President and CEO of NTT DATA.
