NTT DOCOMO Selects Alcatel-Lucent's 7450 Ethernet Switch

NTT DOCOMO has selected Alcatel-Lucent’s 7450 Ethernet Service Switch (ESS) for a nationwide, high quality, latency-sensitive network addressing voice and video traffic when transporting over its core IP network. It also provides a smooth evolution path for NTT DOCOMO to upgrade its network to 10Gig and – as network growth demands — to 40Gig and 100Gig. Financial terms were not disclosed.
