Occam Networks Expands into Europe with FTTP

Occam Networks announced its expansion into European FTTP access markets. Occam offers a wide range of Gigabit Ethernet and GPON optical line terminals (OLTs), including its BLC 6000 multi service access platform (MSAP), optical network terminals (ONTs) and service management solutions.

The company said it is building a network of value added resellers throughout Europe as it ramps up efforts to support the region. This initiative started with the relationships it gained through the acquisition of certain Terawave assets in October 2007. These relationships included a reseller network that covers key geographies and provides local customer support. The result is a fully operational, trained channel capable of equipping and supporting in region sales and marketing activities.

“European service providers, especially alternative providers such as municipalities and utilities, are selecting Ethernet and GPON as the broadband infrastructure solutions of choice as they focus on building standards based, open networks for delivery of bandwidth intensive entertainment and communication services,” said Bob Howard-Anderson, Occam’s President and CEO.
