The Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP) has announced changes to its Board of Directors, with David Ramku taking over as Board Chair from Zaid Kahn, whose two-year term ended on January 31. Ramku, a leader in Meta’s AI Systems and Accelerated Platforms, brings expertise in driving technology ecosystems and partnerships. OCP also welcomes two new board members: Saurabh Dighe from Microsoft and Jeff McVeigh from Intel.

Saurabh Dighe, Corporate Vice President in the Azure Hardware Systems organization at Microsoft, will assume Zaid Kahn’s former seat. Dighe oversees hardware architecture and technology roadmaps for Cloud and AI infrastructure, having previously spent 15 years at Intel pioneering computing technologies. Jeff McVeigh, Corporate Vice President in Intel’s Data Center and AI group, will replace Jeni Barovian, who steps down after a long tenure at Intel. McVeigh brings nearly three decades of industry experience, with expertise in product solutions and the x86 software ecosystem.

OCP CEO George Tchaparian expressed gratitude for Kahn’s contributions, acknowledging his role in guiding the Foundation through significant industry shifts, including the AI-driven transformation of data centers. Tchaparian also welcomed Ramku, Dighe, and McVeigh to their new roles, recognizing their leadership in advancing OCP’s mission. The announcement comes ahead of the 2025 OCP EMEA Summit in April, with the call for presentations open until February 10.

  • David Ramku succeeds Zaid Kahn as OCP Board Chair.
  • Saurabh Dighe joins as Microsoft’s OCP Board representative.
  • Jeff McVeigh replaces Jeni Barovian as Intel’s OCP Board member.
  • The 2025 OCP EMEA Summit will be held in April in Dublin, Ireland.

George Tchaparian, OCP CEO, stated: “We appreciate Zaid Khan’s leadership in guiding OCP during a period of transformative change in the industry. We also welcome David Ramku, Jeff McVeigh, and Saurabh Dighe to their new roles and look forward to their contributions in shaping the future of open computing.”
