Opnext has extended its line of hot-pluggable 10G optical subsystems with the introduction of an Optical Port Slide-In Module (OP10SM) that supports applications at 1550nm with an 80 km fiber reach. Like each module in Opnext’s 10G OP10SM Series, it maintains the SFI-4 system interface standard. The modules can be inserted in the field into an active system, and support VSR, SR, IR2, and LR2 reaches. Future versions include DWDM, Very -long-reach, and G.709 OTN processing features. http://www.opnext.com
