Rakuten Mobile Launches Zero Trust Managed Security Services with Cloudflare

Rakuten Mobile and Cloudflare announced a strategic collaboration to offer Zero Trust security as a managed service for corporate clients across Japan. Through the new partnership, Rakuten Mobile becomes the country’s first Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) for Cloudflare, enabling companies of all sizes to strengthen cybersecurity postures without needing in-house security expertise.

The service is immediately available and combines Cloudflare’s Zero Trust and Network Services with Rakuten Mobile’s high-speed KOSOKU Access internet. The solution offers a one-stop shop for deployment, configuration, and ongoing security operations. This move comes in response to the increasing complexity of hybrid work and a growing number of cyberattacks—Cloudflare recorded an average of 385 million blocked threats per day in Japan during Q1 2025.

Small and mid-sized businesses are expected to benefit significantly, with Rakuten Mobile offering expert support for customers typically underserved by traditional enterprise cybersecurity solutions. The joint offering leverages a cloud-native architecture and unified security platform to improve scalability, monitoring, and threat response while reducing operational complexity and cost.
