Romania's TELETRANS selects Alcatel-Lucent for IP/MPLS

TRANSELECTRICA, Romania’s power transmission company, has selected Alcatel-Lucent’s IP/MPLS and optical transmission solutions as the foundation of its nation-wide network expansion. TELETRANS will implement DWDM nodes in 28 locations and IP/MPLS service routing capabilities in 35 data sites. Alcatel-Lucent will also deliver this solution in a turnkey project management mode including installation, deployment, integration, testing, training and maintenance. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Alcatel-Lucent’s optical networking solution is based on its 1626 Light Manager (LM), managed by the existing 1350 management suite, which will provide higher bandwidth and spread interconnectivity capabilities to be offered to TELETRANS’ customers. The IP/MPLS solution is based on the Alcatel-Lucent 7750 Service Router, which is optimized for the delivery of high performance data, voice and video services. The Alcatel-Lucent 5620 Service Aware Manager will manage the end-to-end IP/MPLS solution, automating tasks while supporting the introduction and administration of new services.http://www.alcatel-lucent.com
