Samsung Electronics is demonstrating High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) systems and mobile phones at this week’s ITU Telecom World 2006 in Hong Kong.
Samsung’s network equipment and mobile phones reached speeds up to 2 Mbps for uplink and 3.6Mbps for downlink — roughly five times faster than current WCDMA upload speeds.
Samsung said it plans to introduce the first commercial HSUPA phone in Europe by 2007 and that Orange will be one of its earliest partners for HSUPA deployment.
