SEA-ME-WE4 Cable Upgrades for 40 Gbps Links

The 20,000-km SEA-ME-WE4 (South East Asia-Middle East-Western Europe) undersea cable system has deployed 40 Gbps technology, the highest wavelength capacity currently available on undersea cable systems.

Launched in 2005, SEA-ME-WE4 is the fourth project in the SEA-ME-WE series. SEA-ME-WE4 links Southeast Asia to Europe through the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East. Terminal stations are located in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Italy, Tunisia, Algeria and France.

As regionalized demands increase in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in China and India, the SEA-ME-WE4 upgrade means an increase in bandwidth availability without the expense of laying new cable.https://convergedigest.com
