Semtech (Nasdaq: SMTC) announced the availability of a two-line transient voltage suppressor designed for automotive Ethernet applications. The device complies with Open Alliance specifications for 10BASE-T1S, 100BASE-T1, and 1000BASE-T1 Ethernet interfaces, ensuring high-speed data transmission integrity in next-generation automotive networks.

The RClamp10022PWQ provides robust electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection with ±15kV contact and ±25kV air discharge capabilities per IEC 61000-4-2, exceeding industry standards. Its ultra-low capacitance of 0.6pF ensures signal integrity for automotive Ethernet networks up to 10Gbps. The device is qualified to the AEC-Q101 standard, making it suitable for deployment in demanding automotive environments.

As automotive networks evolve to support ADAS, autonomous driving, and infotainment systems, high-speed and reliable data transmission becomes essential. The RClamp10022PWQ meets this need by offering strong ESD protection while maintaining signal integrity. Open Alliance compliance simplifies interoperability across vehicle platforms, aiding qualification processes for tier-1 suppliers and OEMs.

  • Semtech releases RClamp10022PWQ transient voltage suppressor for automotive Ethernet.
  • Fully compliant with Open Alliance standards for 10BASE-T1S, 100BASE-T1, and 1000BASE-T1.
  • Provides ±15kV contact and ±25kV air discharge protection per IEC 61000-4-2.
  • Ultra-low capacitance (0.6pF max) ensures signal integrity up to 10Gbps.
  • AEC-Q101 qualified for harsh automotive environments.
  • Features flow-through package design and side-wettable flanks for automated inspection.

“As automotive networks evolve to support ADAS, autonomous driving features, and infotainment systems, reliable high-speed data transmission becomes critical,” said Eric Wentzel, Product Marketing Director, Automotive Segment, Protection Products at Semtech.
