Singtel has deployed 700 MHz spectrum to enhance nationwide 5G coverage. The low-frequency band improves signal strength by up to 40% in high-rise buildings, underground areas, and remote locations. This deployment allows for wider coverage with fewer towers, ensuring stronger and more reliable connectivity for consumers and enterprises. The expansion follows approval from the Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA), with 1.5 million Singtel subscribers set to benefit at no additional cost.

With deeper penetration and broader reach, 5G+ enhances connectivity in Tuas, Kranji, Sungei Kadut, Changi East, and Jurong Island, improving service in industrial and hard-to-reach areas. It also boosts reliability in dense urban environments, ensuring uninterrupted calls, video streaming, and enterprise applications in locations like HDB estates, basement carparks, and office towers. The upgrade supports mission-critical sectors such as healthcare, security, and logistics, advancing Singapore’s Smart Nation vision.

• First deployment of 700 MHz spectrum in Singapore for expanded 5G coverage.

• Stronger indoor and underground signal penetration, improving connectivity by 40%.

• Coverage extended to industrial areas and remote locations, including Tuas and Jurong Island.

Ng Tian Chong, CEO of Singtel Singapore, said: “With 5G+, Singtel is setting a new standard in 5G connectivity that will benefit both consumers and enterprises. We will continue to explore the latest technologies to bolster our 5G+ offering to deliver enhanced digital experiences and enable more opportunities for our customers to advance.”
