SiTime introduced its SiT5977 Super-TCXO, a precision timing solution aimed at improving efficiency and scalability in AI-driven datacenters. As part of the company’s Elite RF family, this single-chip solution offers synchronization and high-bandwidth capabilities, enabling 800G network connectivity in a compact 4X smaller footprint. The device is designed for Smart NICs, acceleration cards, switches, and compute nodes.
The SiT5977 streamlines AI system architecture by replacing multiple timing components with an ultra-stable, low-jitter TCXO. Its 3X tighter synchronization enhances data transmission and communications, while its compact size supports larger processors and maximizes the use of 800G bandwidth networks. “By enabling a new, more efficient architecture, the Elite RF timing solution uniquely supports more efficient AI workload processing, which may lead to higher revenue and lower TCO for datacenters,” said Piyush Sevalia, Executive Vice President of Marketing at SiTime.
• Key Features:
• ±1 ppb/°C frequency slope for robust performance under airflow and thermal shock.
• 800G+ link capability with 80 fs phase jitter and LVDS outputs.
• Digital tuning (DCTCXO) with ±400 ppm pull range and ultra-fine resolution (5e-14).
• Resilient against shock, vibration, and board bending.
• On-chip voltage regulators eliminate the need for external LDOs.
• High-speed 156.25 MHz output frequency for SerDes and 800G links.
• Eliminates timing issues such as link flaps caused by quartz timing dips.
The SiT5977 Super-TCXO is now in production, with samples available for immediate deployment.
