T-Mobile has named Srini Gopalan as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2025. Gopalan, who currently serves as Chief Operating Officer, will succeed Mike Sievert, who steps into the newly created role of Vice Chairman of T-Mobile and its Board. Sievert will continue to play an active role in advising the leadership team on long-term strategy, innovation, talent, and external relations. The transition follows a multi-year succession planning process led by Sievert and the Board.

Gopalan joined T-Mobile as COO after serving as CEO of Deutsche Telekom Germany, where he drove double-digit growth and expanded fiber to millions of households. At T-Mobile, he has overseen the company’s Technology, Consumer, and Business groups, spearheading acquisitions to expand 5G and fiber access while pushing T-Mobile’s shift toward becoming a digital- and AI-first company. His mandate as CEO will focus on extending T-Mobile’s leadership in 5G, scaling customer experiences, and capturing new growth in wireless and broadband.

During Sievert’s nearly six-year tenure, T-Mobile added tens of millions of customers, led the U.S. market in both wireless and broadband growth, and grew its market capitalization by more than $200 billion, becoming the world’s most valuable telecommunications company. Under Gopalan’s leadership, the company aims to build on this trajectory by combining network scale with customer-centric digital innovation.

“I am honored and grateful for the trust Mike and the Board have placed in me, and for the opportunity to lead T-Mobile’s next chapter,” said Srini Gopalan, COO and incoming CEO of T-Mobile. “Mike has done a phenomenal job transforming T-Mobile into the world’s most successful telecom. I am committed to building on his legacy of putting the customer first — while disrupting the industry — as we continue to scale our winning Un-carrier strategy.”
