STACK Infrastructure to Power Stargate AI Data Center Campus in New Mexico

STACK Infrastructure will deliver the digital infrastructure for a new data center campus in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, as part of Oracle’s broader commitment to add up to 4.5 GW of Stargate capacity across the U.S. The planned site is designed as a next-generation AI campus with more than 1 GW of capacity for advanced workloads.

The design incorporates an on-site microgrid to accelerate power availability and a closed-loop cooling system that reduces water consumption to levels comparable with office buildings. The project is backed by investment from Blue Owl Capital and supported by BorderPlex Digital, highlighting the role of private capital and local collaboration in scaling national AI infrastructure.

STACK executives said the project underscores their strategy of delivering large-scale digital infrastructure with speed, scale, and responsibility. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure emphasized the New Mexico site as a critical element in advancing U.S. AI capabilities, while Blue Owl described the partnership as a key component of its Digital Infrastructure strategy.

  • The Doña Ana County campus is planned to deliver more than 1 GW of AI capacity
  • On-site microgrid will accelerate new power capacity
  • Closed-loop cooling system minimizes water consumption
  • Backed by funds managed by Blue Owl Capital
  • Developed in collaboration with BorderPlex Digital

“We’re committed to delivering infrastructure that will power the future of AI,” said Mahesh Thiagarajan, executive vice president, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. “The planned New Mexico site is key to advancing U.S. AI capabilities, and with STACK as a trusted partner, we’re building secure, reliable, and scalable solutions that will deliver lasting benefits to our customers and communities.”

🌐 Analysis: This project ties Oracle’s Stargate initiative to STACK’s expanding global portfolio, demonstrating how hyperscaler commitments are translating into multi-gigawatt regional campuses. The integration of an on-site microgrid aligns with a broader industry trend of coupling power innovation with AI data center scale-out. Recent moves by competitors—including Nscale’s AI factory deployments in Europe and CoreWeave’s large-scale buildouts—underscore the escalating race to secure energy-efficient capacity for AI workloads in diverse geographies.
