Synopsys announced a key interoperability milestone with Broadcom by successfully demonstrating a PCIe 6.x solution running at 64 GT/s using Broadcom’s PEX90000 series switch. The demonstration, held at PCI-SIG DevCon 2025, validates that Synopsys’ PCIe 6.x IP—comprising PHY and controller components—can seamlessly interface with Broadcom’s high-performance switch silicon, significantly reducing design risk for developers of AI and HPC systems.
The interoperability test included Synopsys’ PCIe 6.x IP operating as both root complex and endpoint in conjunction with the PEX90000 switch. As PCIe switches form the backbone of scalable accelerator interconnects in modern data centers, this demonstration confirms readiness for system integrators deploying PCIe 6.x in production-scale AI infrastructure. Attendees at the conference can view live demos of Synopsys’ PCIe 6.x and 7.0 solutions at multiple booths.
Synopsys reports over 100 PCIe 6.x IP implementations and more than 3,800 total customer tapeouts across seven PCIe generations. Its comprehensive PCIe portfolio includes PHYs, controllers, verification IP, and security modules—available now on advanced process nodes—positioning the company as a leading enabler of high-performance interconnects for next-generation compute workloads.
